Who is on my care team?
Bend Health has multiple practitioners who are brought together as a care team based on the needs of the member and family and may include behavioral care managers, coaches, therapists, nurses, and/or psychiatric providers. Each practitioner on the team has a specific role:
Behavioral care managers are the care team quarterback. They are your main contact and help get your questions answered. And if they don’t have the answer, they will get it from the appropriate person on the care team. Behavioral care managers also provide updates on treatment plans, make sure care is progressing as expected, and they help coordinate with primary care physicians and pediatricians as appropriate. They will also help work with a school if needed to help support a member.
Mental health coaches practice evidence-based techniques that help members understand and implement powerful techniques to better manage life. For members with low-to-moderate symptoms, our coaches are trained professionals helping members gain a better understanding of themselves, others in their lives, and the world around them. Bend Health coaches are not therapists, but are supervised by licensed practitioners.
Therapists are independently licensed master’s level therapists who deliver evidence-based interventions such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Exposure Response Prevention (ERP), Motivational Enhancement (ME), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Parent Management Training (PMT), Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT), Executive Functioning Training and other therapies to help children/teens/young adults and families who have mild-to-severe conditions. They work closely with Bend Health coaches and behavioral care managers and help emphasize utilization of the skills taught by our coaches.
Psychiatric providers are psychiatrists or nurse practitioners who evaluate those with more severe conditions. They diagnose and prescribe medications if necessary, or eliminate medications that are not helping. Our psychiatric providers work in collaboration with Bend Health therapists and coaches so that your entire team is all working together to help you feel better, faster. Psychiatric providers also work in collaboration with pediatricians and primary care physicians to support whole body care to achieve the best possible outcome.
